Words cannot express how pleased we are with our training experiences with Rendy and Emily. Our eldest dog Nalah joined Rendy’s puppy and advanced classes and our new puppy (Ava) is currently taking puppy classes with Emily. Almost every time we leave the house for the dog park or the beach we have at least one person comment on how well trained our eldest dog Nalah is. Unlike other owners in dog friendly areas, we have complete control of Nalah. During these times of high distraction she will recall, sit, and stay without a fuss. We are at complete ease walking Nalah off leash, and are proud to say that by the time she turned a year old she could: sit, stay, leave it, drop it, check in, settle, lay down, go to her special spot, stand, shake, touch, heal, wait, and hug on command. After the completion of Nalah’s classes every time I had a question or concern about raising/ training Nalah I would e-mail Rendy and receive a very helpful and timely response. We don’t know what we would have done without Rendy’s guidance throughout Nalah’s puppy years; and we look forward to having her around for round two with our newest addition (Ava). Thank you Anything Is Pawsible, we will continue to recommend you to everyone we know!

Using Rendy Schwartz as our dog-trainer was an absolutely wonderful experience! She taught us so many practical techniques for working with our dog in an easy-to-understand and FUN way. We looked forward to every weekend when she would come to our house. She related well to everyone in our family, and most importantly our dog, Hannah, who just loved her! This was our first experience owning a family dog, and we adopted her from a shelter. Our little cutie had a variety of issues that needed attention, but we had no clue what to do! Rendy taught us the important principles of how dogs think. She then provided us with the tools we needed to get the results we were looking for. We especially liked how all Rendy’s dog training techniques were POSITIVE and never punitive. When we were researching dog-trainers, we were especially impressed with the fact that Rendy has a master’s degree in psychology. Her understanding of people, not just dogs, made the experience truly unique. Rendy spent a lot of time talking with us, patiently answering questions, and making sure we understood the concepts and could apply them. After each visit to our home, Rendy always made us feel confident and optimistic that we could get the job done! We will always be very grateful to her for helping us incorporate a dog into our family and our lives.

Rendy is a life saver in my opinion. My husband and I adopted our first pet from a shelter and had no idea how to train her. There were many times when I had to call Rendy for advice and she always returned my phone calls. This was before I had even met Rendy personally and I had actually went to another trainer and was not happy with them at all. When I first met Rendy she made both myself and Lexus feel completely comfortable. Rendy eased both of our minds. She made the transition of getting a new pet easy and enjoyable. She is always willing to help no matter what time of day and just like her dog training techniques is always upbeat and positive. It is obvious that Rendy loves dogs (all kinds!) and she truly puts her heart and soul into her job. Many times I think that Rendy was more of a help to me than Lexus because I was more stressed than her! :-) Lexus and I both enjoyed our time with Rendy and looked forward to our private lessons. Rendy always took the time to inquire about what had been going on and what my goals were with Lexus. Her techniques are easy to follow and work like a charm!! Did I mention they are also fun!! I would not trade my experience with Rendy and even though Lexus is a perfect dog, I keep looking for a reason to have more lessons with Rendy!! We are so thankful for Rendy and everything she has done for us! Thank you so very much!!

We cannot say enough great things about our Basic Class experience. We had just adopted our 5 month old mutt, Addie, from Animal Care and Control a few weeks before the class started. The class was the perfect way for us to not only start to train our dog, but to develop a relationship with her. Once we started the interaction in class she started to trust that she was staying with us for good and her behavior definitely changed quickly. Rendy gave us some great insight on dealing with a shelter dog and some great resources as well. You can tell she loves dogs and would be doing this even if it wasn’t her job. Her dog training techniques had such great results so quickly that we always felt like we were accomplishing something. Anytime Addie(or us) wasn’t quite getting something, we were always given encouragement and an alternative method. We looked forward to class ever week. Most of all, Rendy’s patience and generosity with her time and knowledge have made us very happy puppy owners!

I just wanted to say thank you a million times again for all your help with Homer and Trixie. They loved working with you as did Kevin and I. You taught us techniques that worked amazingly well with our two little (former) crazies and that we can use for many years of dogs to come. Your patience with them is remarkable and I think it’s wonderful that your in-home training lessons exist. Those were the perfect option for us and them. You made dog training a truly enjoyable experience.

I want to thank you for your patience and your guidance over the past couple of weeks. After we arrived home from class on Tuesday it’s like a miracle happened. Hoover has been happy and engaged. He has started to follow our direction more often than not. When he is lazy about it, we still insist on the desired behaviour and he complies with only the most minimal of coaxing. We hardly use treats at all anymore. It’s like you handed us our dog back. He even checks in with us when we take him to the dog park. He is a pleasure to walk. If I wasn’t watching him, I wouldn’t know he was even there. I can’t begin to express how relieved and thankful we both feel. Thank you! thank you! thank you!

I want to thank you for laying a positive foundation for training with Genie and I. It is because of this foundation and your expertise that Genie is alive today.
I was walking with Genie this last Saturday night along the lakefront. As you may recall, Genie and I walk on average 18-20 miles a day. I was walking to Navy Pier with her when I encountered a large ice covered section of the lakefront adjacent to the s-curve on Lake Shore Drive. I elected to not traverse this section and to instead walk along side the drive on the small sidewalk next to the flow of traffic. The sidewalk is not very wide but it is safe. Additionally, the only thing separating the sidewalk from the drive is a concrete barrier wall about 2 feet high.
The steps leading up to the sidewalk are very tall and steep so I was concentrating on firm footing for myself. This is a cardinal sin when walking a sight hound as momentary distractions are enough time to create dangerous situations. As I negotiated the steps, Genie became excited and bound up the steps with aplomb. In fact, she was so excited and so adept at negotiating the steps she elected to jump the concrete barrier wall as well. In doing so, she placed herself squarely on LSD at 7:00 P.M. with numerous cars streaking by at high speed in narrow lanes just south of the s-curve. All I heard were cars tires screeching and horns blowing. Needless to say I was less than calm at that point in time. I could not speak any commands or words other than to scream Genie’s name. Of course this had no effect on her whatsoever. I did however, without thought, give the visual signal for “front” and she quickly leapt the wall and was back on the safe side of the barrier in no time at all. She was not even grazed by a car and it is a miracle she was not killed. If she were injured or killed it would have been my fault as I was responsible for the lapse that resulted in her near death experience (unbeknownst to her).
I work with Genie everyday on obedience commands, working with distractions, and reinforcing the things we learned in your classes. Sometimes I use nothing but verbal commands while other time I use nothing but visual commands. This paid off big time Saturday night. I would have never learned these things and techniques on my own and have you to thank for your expertise. Thank you for teaching me how to save Genie’s life.
Please feel free to pass this information on to students in your classes as the skills and techniques they learn through you may save their pet’s life. I have many responsibilities to Genie; I am responsible to ensure she has food, shelter, exercise, excellent healthcare, mental and physical stimulation, protection, and a safe environment to live in. She has one responsibility and one only: to do what I say when I say it (even if it’s “visually” said).
Thanks again.
